Visit Frýdek-Místek, the gateway to the Beskydy Mountains, the town where you will find the only basilica in the Moravian-Silesian region. To reach it, you can walk down the charming alley of old merchants' houses, which leads from another landmark of the town - Frýdek Castle. This is the town where the miracle of Marlenka honey is produced, which is known far beyond the borders of the Czech Republic. And if you want to learn how honey is obtained from bees, you can visit one of the largest beekeeping museums in Europe.
Only about 3 km from the town centre you will find the Olešná recreation area, which is named after the local dam. Here you'll find roller-skating enthusiasts, children bouncing on the trampoline, people swimming in the water park and fishermen on the banks. It is an ideal place for recreation and sport not only for the residents of Frýdek-Místek, but also for visitors to the region.
