Velký Javorník (918 m. n. m.)

Velký Javorník (918 m) is the highest point of the Veřovice Hills, the westernmost foothills of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains.

This very popular tourist spot will surely attract you with its majestic 26 m high wooden lookout tower accessible all year round, refreshments can be found in the historic tourist hut.

The lookout tower from 2013 is an original wooden building inspired by the folk architecture of Frenštát.

The tourist hut on the top is an original building inaugurated in 1935 thanks to the initiative of the Pohorská jednota Radhošt' - the same association was behind the construction of the shelters on the ridge of Pustevna.

Neither the hut nor the lookout tower are new - the hut was already there at the end of the 19th century, and the lookout tower stood here in the 1930s. However, due to lack of maintenance, both buildings fell into disrepair and had to be rebuilt.
